Saturday, April 20, 1PM:  Creating a Backyard Habitat(Rescheduled from April 13)

Birdscaping expert, Don Torino, will offer tips on how to create a great backyard habitat for birds, butterflies and other critters.  Topics will include landscaping suggestions, providing shelter and nesting sites for birds, feeding stations, water sources and anything else you need to certify your yard through the National Wildlife Federation.

Saturday, May 18, 1PM:  Attracting Hummingbirds

Learn all about hummingbirds and what it takes to attract them to your yard.  Don Torino will discuss the use of hummingbird feeders, as well as shrubs, perennials and annual plantings that provide natural nectar sources. WBU Window Hummingbird Feeder

Saturday, June , 1PM:  Binoculars for Bird Watching

This hands-on seminar will be conducted outside, weather permitting.  You will get to try out our large selection of binoculars and spotting scopes--handle them and test them out under real conditions like you would find when out in the field or in your backyard.  Learn about lens quality, magnification, field of view and other terms used to describe optics. 

Saturday, June 8, 10AM - 2PM:  Feeder Cleaning

Have your dirty, poop-covered birdfeeders, houses and accessories power-washed and sanitized by Bergen County Audubon Society volunteers.  $4 per item.  All proceeds go to Bergen County Audubon Society (BCAS).  BCAS contributes to projects and educational endeavors at local schools, parks and nature centers, as well as other area environmental concerns.  Visit their website for more information:  www.bergencountyaudubon.org
