WBU IN-STORE PROGRAMS

Sat., March 13, 10AM:  Getting Ready for Spring Nesting Season.  Learn all about the birds that nest in our area and how to attract them to your yard.  Don Torino will teach you if your favorite bird likes to raise their young in a nesting box or your shrubs.  Find out how to fortify your birds’ diets to produce strong eggs and healthy fledglings, as well as how you can make life a little easier for the parents.

Sat., April 17, 10AM:  Creating a Backyard Wildlife Habitat.  Birdscaping expert, Don Torino, will offer tips on creating a backyard habitat for birds, butterflies and other critters.  Topics will include landscaping suggestions, providing shelter and nesting sites for birds, feeding stations, water sources, and anything else you need to certify your yard through the National Wildlife Federation.

Sat., May 1, 10AM:  Attracting Hummingbirds.  Find out what it takes to attract hummingbirds to your yard.  From favorite feeders to landscaping—this program will cover it all!

Sat., May 22, 10AM:  Hands-on Optics Seminar. This optics seminar will be held outside (weather permitting) and you will get hands-on access to a variety of our most popular binoculars and spotting scopes.  Learn about optics terminology, what all of those numbers mean, and how they apply to bird watching.  Don’t miss your chance to determine which binoculars are the best fit for you!

Sat., June 5, 10AM – 2PM:  Bird Feeder Cleaning. Volunteers from Bergen County Audubon Society will power wash and sterilize even your most disgusting feeders, nest boxes and accessories for a donation of only $4 per item.  By far our most popular event!
